Dennis Kearney

Dennis J. Kearney, President, concentrates his practice in government. He provides legal, legislative and strategic services to clients affected by local, state or federal government policy, legislation or regulation. These services include public policy analysis, goal formulation, strategy development and advocacy of client objectives before legislative bodies, regulatory agencies and various executive branch agencies and administrative departments. Mr. Kearney's experience, understanding of the government process and ability to communicate with decision makers enable him to provide valuable government relations and lobbying services.

Mr. Kearney formerly served in local, state and county government including 12 years in elected office as a member of the Massachusetts Legislature and as Sheriff of Suffolk County. Mr. Kearney, a graduate of the Boston Latin School, received an A.B. from Harvard College, an M.P.A. from the Harvard JFK School of Government and a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School.

Mr. Kearney is active in various business and civic organizations, alumni associations and political and charitable causes. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the New England Council and the Massachusetts Telecommunications Council. He is chairman of the New England Council's Budget Committee which represents New England regional interests in the federal budget process and the Massachusetts Telecommunications Council's Government Affairs Committee which promotes the Massachusetts Telecommunications industry to state and federal policy makers.

Prior to forming Kearney, Donovan & McGee, P.C. in 2003, Mr. Kearney managed the government practice group at Choate, Hall & Stewart, and served as President of Kearney & Gleason, P.C.
